Jeffrey John Kurtzeman

Jeffrey John Kurtzeman, 68 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (December 22, 2010) at his home.
The son of Earl J. and Ruth (Meyers) Kurtzeman, he was born September 20, 1942 in Canton, Ohio. On April 4, 1970 in LasVegas, NV he was united in marriage to Patricia Winget.
Jeffrey moved to Phoenix, AZ at the age of 3 where he attended school and graduated from North High School in 1960. He served a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Western International University with a B.A. degree in 1985. He worked as an engineer in the computer industry General Electric, Honeywell and Bull Information System. He served as the Web Master for Bull Information Systems until he retired in 2000.
He was a life time member of the V.F.W. and a member of the American Iris Society. He enjoyed growing iris and had hundreds of iris growing on his property. He also enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, and photography, having had pictures published in the Encyclopedia, Arizona Highway magazines and several other books and magazines related to guns and minerals.
Jeffery is survived by his wife, Patricia; one brother, Ronald A. Kurtzeman and wife Kathy of Phoenix, AZ; two nieces, Tracy Campbell and husband Boone and Jodi Folley and husband Roger; and five great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law and their spouses and one brother-in-law and spouse and his Missouri family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (December 28, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
