Willard Lewis

Willard K. Lewis, 85, of Unionville, MO, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. He was at his home at the time.
Willard Keith Lewis was born in Putnam County, MO, on December 26, 1925, the son of Roy and Bertha (Abbott) Lewis, who preceded him in death. On April 6, 1947 he was united in marriage to Opal Mullins who preceded him in death on July 3, 1993.
Willard served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He lived all his life in Putnam County where he was a farmer and carpenter. He gave his heart to the Lord many years ago and served Him faithfully. He was a member of the Hartford Baptist Church where he was helping to build a new facility.
Surviving are two children: Sherie Hoover and husband Gary of Horseshoe Bend, AR and David Lewis and wife Nancy of Grant City, MO; five grandchildren, Dawn Michaelswirth and husband Mark of Wentzville, MO, Nicole Huggins and husband Zach of Brookland, AR, Scoot Hoover of Horseshoe Bend, AR, Charlea Lewis of Maryville, MO, and Nate Lewis of Grant City, MO. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law also survive, Mike and Maxine Fowler of Unionville, MO and a sister-in-law, Merle Lewis, of Unionville, MO.
Others who preceded Willard in death are brothers Leland and Earnest Lewis and sisters Ethel Auten and Wilma Wessel and grandson Ryan Hoover.
Funeral Services for Willard Lewis will be at Hartford Baptist Church east of Unionville, MO, on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 am with visitation at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Shipley Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
