Phyllis Barnes, 72 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (February 8, 2011) at her home.
The daughter of Thomas and Nellie (Day) Tippett, she was born April 26, 1938 in Kirksville. In 1981 in Edina, MO she was united in marriage to Richard Barnes and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Phyllis is survived by five children, Michael Longano and wife Debbie of Greentop, MO, Anthony Longano and fiancée Twana Todd of Moberly, MO, John Longano and wife Teresa of Brashear, MO, Chris Longano and wife Tina of Brashear, MO and Joy Attebery and fiancée Victor Lewis of Kirksville; 16 grandchildren, Rebecca Longano, Amanda, Brandon and Kaitlin Longano, Charlotte and Alicia Longano, Marissa Harrison and husband Lennie, Alexis Paige, Heather and Christopher Longano, Ashley Darland and husband Nathan, Keller Bowen and wife Denae, Katherine Tallman and husband Jacob, Laura Bowen, Trac Attebery, and Joseph Attebery; 5 great grandchildren, Isaiah Bowen, Andromeda Harrison, Nicholas Darland, Angeileen Bowen and Legion Longano-Swartz; two step children, Rick Barnes and Mary Jaques and husband Robert and one step grandchild, Annabelle Jaques.
Phyllis grew up in Kirksville where she attended the Willard School and graduated from the Kirksville High School. She worked for Kirksville Manor Care Center for many years.
She loved her family, traveling with her sister, playing bingo and crocheting.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday (February 12, 2011) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (February 11, 2011) at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
