Bobbie Jean Keener, 66, of rural Livonia, MO, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, February 12, 2010.
Bobbie Jean (Gibson) Keener was born in Hopkins County, KY, on December 21, 1944, the daughter of Neely and Opal (Ipoc) Gibson, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Kentucky. On November 28, 1977 she married Jack Keener in Burlington, IA, and he survives at home.
Bobbie Jean and Jack moved from Burlington, IA, to their home in Putnam County in 1999. Bobbie Jean was a giving person who enjoyed traveling, especially to see her family in Kentucky. She also enjoyed camping and sitting around the campfire. She really enjoyed the country life.
Others who survive Bobbie Jean are her children: Jon Keener and wife Jennifer of LeClaire, IA, Lavinia Nutt of Jacksonville, IL, Belinda Arteaga and husband Tino of Galesburg, IL, Lisa Bruegger and husband John of West Point, IA, Charlotte Lamety and husband Tracy of Montrose, IA, Valerie Burgess and husband Howard of Sperry, IA, and Marilyn Ingersoll and husband John of Kirksville, MO. Eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive as well as two brothers, Speedy Gibson of Madisonville, KY, and Jerry Gibson of Central City, KY; and two sisters, Katherine Osborn and Brenda Mosby, both of Madisonville, KY.
A daughter, Laura Stickler, preceded Bobbie Jean in death as well as brothers Denzel Gibson, Buddy Gibson, and James Gibson and sisters Joyce Hale, Shelby Gibson, and Shirley Gibson.
A visitation will be held for Bobbie Jean Keener at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Saturday, February 19 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. No services will be held. Cremation and interment will follow at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to Omaha Baptist Church and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
