Ruth Brown, 80, of Unionville, MO, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
Ruth (Hart) Brown was born in Chariton, MO, on May 24, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Olive (Neagle) Hart. She was reared in that area of Putnam County and graduated from Livonia High School. On June 21, 1948 she married Robert Brown in Lancaster, MO, and he survives at home in Unionville.
Robert and Ruth farmed in Putnam County before moving to Unionville in1964. Ruth was a cook for many years at the Unionville elementary school and then cooked for the Headstart program in Unionville. She liked to quilt and make “Hart” dolls as gifts for her family. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for her family.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, Glenda Brenneman of Kansas City, MO, Richard Brown and wife Ellen of Audubon, IA; and Jasper Brown of Unionville, MO. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive as well as two brothers, Jerry Bill Hart of Granger, IA, and Roger Mac Hart and wife Joan of Ohio; and two sisters, Mary Fern Lewman of Des Moines, IA, and Barbara Sue Hart of Florissant, MO.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister Patsy Jo Hart and a brother, Pearl Hart.
Ruth received excellent care at home from her loving husband and from her sister-in-law, Arlene Allen and her husband Lloyd. The family is also very appreciative of the fine care from Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
Ruth’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO, 635656.
