Doris Ilene Shouse

Doris Ilene Shouse, 92 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (March 23, 2011) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of James Andrew and Laura Ann (Ransom) Lumsden, she was born February 20, 1919 in Cora, Missouri. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Clifford Shouse who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Truman, Ted, Jack, John and Mickie; and four sisters, Gernice, Gladine, Sadie and Mary.

Doris is survived by her sister, Sally of Arcadia, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was a loving and kind person. She loved her family so much she kept notes and dates when they came by or called. She loved bible study and going to church. Doris and Clifford would go on group camp outs and enjoyed to sing, Clifford played the guitar. She loved her flowers and planting garden. She also loved pets, especially cats.

Doris was looked after by her niece, Shirley Parry while she was in Twin Pines and she loved her very much.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (March 26, 2011) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dan Lumsden, Randy Lumsden, Jim Lumsden, Mike Parry, Gary Lankford, and Roy Tillery.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the
