Rex Meline, 84 of Brashear passed away Sunday (April 3, 2011) at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Rex was born on September 3, 1926 in Adair County, Missouri, the son of Carl and Winnifred (Johnson) Meline. On October 10, 1945 in Brashear, Missouri he was united in marriage to Evelyn Eagle who survives. He is also survived by two sons, David Meline and wife Nancy of Putnam, IL and Douglas Meline and wife Reta of Kirksville; one sister, Mary Kay Calnan of Columbus, OH; three grandsons, Timothy Meline, Brandon Meline and Trey Meline; one step granddaughter, Carrie Theis and four great grandchildren.
Rex was reared in Gibbs, Missouri and attended school in Brashear graduating from the Brashear High School. After his marriage he moved to Iowa where he worked on a farm. In 1950 he moved to Brashear where he opened Meline’s Service Station which he operated until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of the Brashear Community Bible Church.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday (April 7, 2011) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Perry officiating. Musical selection will be “I Believe” and “In The Garden”. Interment will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be David Meline, Douglas Meline, Timothy Meline, Brandon Meline. Trey Meline and Carrie Theis
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
