Bonita Romaine Casady

Bonita Romaine Casady, 66 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center.

The daughter of Walter Romaine and Betty Ruth (Toland) Hartsock, Bonita was born August 9, 1944 in Long Beach, CA. On October 9, 1967 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Glen W. Casady, Jr.

Bonita is survived by her husband, Glen; two sons, Jeff Casady of Springfield, MO and Greg Casady of Kirksville; two daughters, Darla Collop of Kirksville and Kimberly Cantrel of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren, Chelsey Collop, Ashley Collop, Ryan Casady, Zachary Casady, Cheyenne Cantrel, Chelsea Casady, Haley Casady, Harley Casady and one sister, Nancy Williams and husband, Gary of Dustin, FL. She is also survived by her very special friend Barbara Gillum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Joseph Collop.
Bonita was reared in Long Beach, CA until she was in the 7th grade. In 1962 with her parents she moved to Green City, MO where she attended the Green City schools graduating from the Green City High School with the Class of 1962. In 1963 she graduated from the College of Cosmetology in Kirksville. After her marriage she moved to Kirksville where she raised her family. Bonita and Glen operated several businesses in Kirksville. She was a good mother and loved her children and grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Virgil Jones and Nancy Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City, MO.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Casady, Greg Casady, Ryan Casady, Marty King, David King and Chris Collop.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (April 22, 2010) at the

The family has suggested memorials to the Diabetes Association.
