Helen Loraine Jones, 99 of Queen City passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the home of her daughter in St Joseph, MO where she had been residing since September of 2004.

Loraine was the daughter of Arval and Laura (Followell) Johnson, born December 27, 1911 in Livonia, MO.

On August 13, 1932 she was united in marriage to John P. Jones of Queen City. John and Loraine enjoyed 74 years of marriage together before he went home to be with the lord.

Surviving are their son and daughter, Robert Jones and wife Leona of Phoenix, and Barbara Carpenter of St Joseph; four grandchildren, Shanna Rotzler and husband Richard, Sharon Jones, Mike Carpenter and wife Tracy, and Kelly Gasper; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Rebekah Springer, Ethan Rotzler, Garrett Norem, Jessi and Daniel Arnett; sister-in-law, Louise Johnson of Sunsight, AZ; two brothers-in-law, Perley Jones of Queen City, and Leland Jones of Lohrville, IA; a cousin, Dorothy Werner ,Lancaster; nieces and nephews, and many friend and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Howard Johnsons, an Infant brother, and her son-in-law, Tom Carpenter.

Loraine was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who spent her married years meeting the needs of those in her family on their farm in Queen City. She loved people; and enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors and all who she came in contact with. She was is member of the Queen City Christian Church

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Queen City Christian Church with Pastor George Bradburn officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home Queen City, MO 63561 660-766-2241
