Joe Loughead, 46, of Unionville, MO, died at this home in rural Unionville on Monday, June 6, 2011.
Joseph R. J. Loughead was born in Unionville, MO, on November 27, 1964, the son of Julius Leonard and Flossie Arlee (Lunsford) Loughead who preceded him in death. Joe grew up in rural Putnam County and lived his entire life in the same house. He worked for various farming operations including Blackbird Creek Cattle Company, Gary Schoonover and Dr. Fon Owings. He also worked for Will Holliday Dozing and had worked the past 11 years as a mechanic at Buzz’s Auto Place. Joe liked to hunt and to observe wildlife. He had cameras set up in the timber to watch the game.
Joe is survive by a brother, Danie Loughead and his wife Bernetta of Springfield, MO, and two sisters, Margaret Myers and her husband Stephen and Linda Capps and her husband Gordon, all of Unionville, MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive including a special niece, Sandy Loughead of Unionville.
Others who preceded Joe in death were three brothers, Tony Lunsford, Dickie Loughead, and Jay Loughead; and one sister, Phyllis Loughead, who died in infancy.
Funeral services for Joe Loughead will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Collins will conduct the service. Recorded musical selection will be “When I Get to Where I’m Going.” Casket bearers will be Roger Halley, Phillip Halley, Todd Halley, Dallas Halley, Sonny Holliday, and Buzz Welch. Interment will be in the Burnett Cemetery south of Unionville.
Memorials for Joe Loughead are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses and may be entrusted to Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO.
