Ben Quintana
Ben Quintana, 35, died in a one car accident between Connelsville and Novinger on Missouri State Highway 149 on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
Benjamin Brian Quintana was born in Kirksville, MO, on November 22, 1975, the son of Harvey and Alberta (Triplett) Quintana. He grew up in Livonia, MO, and graduated from Putnam County High School in 1994.
After High School he was engaged in farm and ranch work with area farms including John Steele, Mike McCollum, and his uncle Bill Triplett. He had recently begun work at Central States Cattle Company in Wapello County, Iowa, working for the Ed Warren family, with whom he had become close friends.
Ben was an active outdoorsman who liked to deer hunt, camp and look for arrowheads in the various streams in north Missouri. He loved to ride horses, learning to ride at an early age. He would jump on just about anything and try to ride. Ben was a hard worker and was kind to everyone. He was eager to help those in need. Ben received Christ as a young person and was a member of Omaha Baptist Church where he was active in youth events, especially enjoying the Sports for Christ Retreat.
Ben is survived by his parents at their home in Livonia and also a brother, Eric Quintana of Livonia, MO. Surviving grandparents are Bob and Beverly Hurley and Darwin and Georgia Triplett, all of Livonia, MO, and Joseph Quintana of Pueblo, CO. Many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends also survive Ben.
He was preceded in death by cousins, Jeremy Hurley and Nicholas Rook.
Funeral services for Ben Quintana will be held at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Sunday, July 10 at 7:00 pm with visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 on the same evening as the service. Ben’s cremains will be interred at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Ben Quintana Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Chariton Hills Rodeo Bible Camp and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
