Joyce Ann Casady

Joyce Ann Casady, 70, of Kansas City, MO, passed away at the North Kansas City Hospital Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO, on Tuesday, August 2, 2010. She had been a resident there for just a few days.
Joyce Ann (Sexton) Casady was born in Colson, KY, on November 17, 1940, the daughter of Lawrence and Loretta Sexton, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Greenfield, IN. On May 25, 1962 she married Bailey Casady in Unionville, MO, and he survives in Kansas City.
Joyce and Bailey lived in Unionville for a short time after his discharge from the service and they operated Casady’s Café. They moved to Kansas City in 1967 and have resided there ever since. For ten years she drove a truck with her husband for King Transportation and then they owned their own truck which they leased to King. She was also active in the antique business as a buyer and seller, often attending antique shows. She had a good knack for this trade. Joyce also dearly loved her family and her four grandkids were very precious to her.
Others who survive Joyce are her son, Bailey Joe Casady and her daughter, Lori Clark, both of Kansas City, MO. Her four grandchildren are Zackery Carleton, Myrriah Clark, Mikaella Casady, and JT Casady. Surviving brothers are Harold Sexton of Kansas City, MO, and Curtis Sexton, Ottis Sexton, and Walter “Leroy” Sexton, all of Greenfield, IN. Surviving sisters are Lillian Lucas and Sheila Isaacs of Greenfield, IN, and Geneva Walters of Indianapolis, IN. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins and brother-in-law, Jack Busby and his family also survive.
Funeral services for Joyce Casady will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. A visitation will begin one hour prior to her funeral service. Interment will be in the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
