Faye Cooper

Juanita Faye (Selby) Cooper, 94 of Quincy, IL and formerly of Kirksville passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Quincy, IL.

The daughter of Clyde and Jewell (Teter) Baldwin, Faye was born December 12, 1916 in Ardmore, MO. On March 25, 1933 in Brashear, MO she was united in marriage to Harold M. Selby who preceded her in death. On September 25, 1971 in Bosie, ID she was united in marriage to Aubrey V. Cooper who preceded her in death. Also preceding Faye in death were her parents, a grandson, Scott Epker and one sister, Eva Albarty.

Faye is survived by one son, Dennis Selby and wife Linda of Independence, MO; two daughters, Mariam Kelly and husband Vern of Quincy, IL and Brenda Epker of Quincy, IL; one sister, Dorothy Holman of Macon, MO; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Faye was adopted by Clyde and Pansy Williams at the age of nine and she was reared in Kirksville where she attended the Kirksville public schools. She was employed at the International Shoe Factory. She moved to Quincy, IL on September 26, 1936 where she was employed at Carson-Pierre Scott & Company and Brown Drug, retiring in 1970. After her retirement in 1970 she returned to Kirksville, Faye was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Quincy, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend David Varta officiating. There will be a hymn sung by Rosella Dean and Reva Anderson. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Ron Stathem, Don Stathem, Mark Stathem, Gary Bunch, Randy Elmore and Bradley Selby.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the
