Lorene Gruber, 82 of Kirksville passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 1, 2011) unexpectally at her daughter’s home to be with God, her husband, Robert, the love of her life, her mother, Ivan Baker who lived to be 106 years of age and her three graqndchildren, she now joins them in heaven..
She was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Romance, MO. She was married to Robert Gruber and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.
Lorene is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gruber-Capps and husband Alan of Kirksville; grandchildren, Jesse and Slade, grandkid puppies, Sam and Shadow; one brother, Loren Dowell; six sisters, Pauline Epps, Lois Naimon, Betty Lou Lottman, Gerri Moore, Mae Grell and Thelma Cardwell; special life long friends, Doc Donald and Sharon Shoup; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. All who she loved very dearly.
At Lorene’s request she will be cremated and her remains will be entombed in Park View Memorial Gardens Good Shepherd Mausoleum with a short memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 7, 2011). Arrangements by Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for the grandson’s education.
