Mary Lou Durham, 81 of Kalona, Iowa was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.
Mary Lou was born in Sidney, Missouri on August 23, 1930 to Henry and Orpha (Chrisman) Patterson. She married Manford Durham on August 26, 1946.
She worked for many years and retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middleton, Iowa.
She was a longtime member of the Open Bible Church in Winfield, Iowa.
Mary Lou is survived by two sons, Gordon (Janie) Durham of Clark, MO and David (Martha) Durham of Oglesby, IL; three daughters, Joyce Durham of Lone Tree, IA, Janet Hill of Lone Tree, IA and Jean (Jim) Mitchell of Kalona, IA; one step-daughter, Judy (Marvin) Conger of Davenport, IA; one brother, George (Barbara) Patterson of Novinger, MO; two sisters, Bette (Bud) Jacobs of Unionville, MO and Rebecca Summers of Unionville, MO; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford in 1991, her son, Robert in 1999, her daughter, Debbie in 1955, and two sisters, Eailena Lawson and Lucille West.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (Sept. 23, 2011) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO with Pastor Bill Hornbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Yarrow Cemetery in Yarrow, MO.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO.
