Trevia Aldine Tucker, 83 of Kirksville passed away Monday evening (September 26, 2011) at The Arbors.
Trevia was born on April 22, 1928 in Novinger, Missouri, the daughter of Archie Ivan and Catherine (Novinger) Reese. She was united in marriage to Thomas Harley Tucker on May 23, 1949 in Kirksville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Toni Louise Tucker.
Trevia is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Tucker; one son, Thomas H. (Tim) Tucker II and wife Stephanie A. Powelson of Kirksville; two grandchildren, Lucas Pawelson Tucker of Rolla, MO and Jacob Powelson Tucker of Kirksville; one sister, Neva King of Kirksville and one brother, Bill Reese and wife Linda Lou of Novinger.
Trevia was reared in Novinger and attended the Novinger schools. She graduated from the Novinger High School on May 19, 1945. She was employed for many years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement on May 31, 1983. Trevia and her husband were avid antique collectors. She especially like collecting quilts and R. S. Prussia China. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Communication Workers of America.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday (October 1, 2011) at 10:30 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Marty Joplin officiating. Musical selection will be “How Can I Keep From Singing” and “Amazing Grace” sung by Lanna Novinger and accompanied by Dianthe Cable. Interment will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233
