Dale Duene Dorsey

Dale Duane Dorsey, 52, of Brashear, MO passed away at the North East Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO on October 24, 2011.

Dale Dorsey was born in Unionville, MO on November 28, 1958, the son of Lyman and Iva (Forkum) Dorsey. Dale attended the Putnam County schools then later enrolled in the Kirksville Area Votech where he earned his certification as a heating and cooling mechanic. Dale used his skills working for Conagra, Putnam County Schools, and Sodexo at Truman University. Dale was a “jack of all trades” who learned to fix anything by digging right in. His family and friends called on his vast knowledge often when they ran into problems. Dale had a special love for animals, music, and admiring unique cars. Dale treasured every moment with his family, but especially enjoyed skating and tractor pull events with his boys. He will be greatly missed.

Dale is survived by his wife Donna of the home; son, Ray Dorsey and friend Annie Coop of Belton, MO; grandson, Trevor Dorsey; brothers, Ozia Wyatt (Rayma) of Centerville, IA, Gary Dorsey of Sedalia, MO, Jimmy Dorsey (Melvina) and Roy Dorsey of Unionville, MO; sisters, Evelyn Graham of Greentop, MO and Barb Varney (Rex) of Centerville, IA; mother-in-law, Betty Eitel of Queen City, MO; ex mother-in-law, Jean Shibley of Unionville, MO; step son, James Stribling of Brashear, MO; step daughter, Becky Hartegan and partner Chadra of Hanibal, MO; step grandson, Chad Hartegan; step granddaughter, Lindsey Hartegan; and several nieces and nephews along with several brother and sister-in-laws.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a son, Derek Dorsey and several aunts and uncles.
