Danny Knowles

Danny Knowles, 53, of Truro, IA, passed away at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident the previous day.
Danny Earl Knowles was born in Des Moines, IA, on June 25, 1958, the son of Lawrence Neal and Mary Fay (Small) Knowles. Danny was reared in the Des Moines area and after school went to work in the construction industry where he remained until his death. He specialized in drywall and worked in Iowa and Colorado.
Danny liked to do mechanical and body work on old cars. He also read mystery thrillers by such authors as Stephen King and James Patterson. Danny liked to tease and play jokes, especially on his nieces and nephews, who loved his antics. He was a loving and caring friend, son, and brother who would often give of his possessions to help others. He was also an animal lover, especially cats. Danny was a member of Carpenter’s Union #106.
Danny is survived by his mother, Mary Knowles, of Truro, IA, and by two brothers, Robert Knowles of Des Moines, IA, and Glen Knowles and fiancé Johanna Ackerman, of New Virginia, IA, and by a sister, Patricia Garner and husband Mike of Truro, IA. Danny is also survived by Craig Koller, whom Danny thought of as a son and his wife Jessica. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Lawrence Neal Knowles, Danny’s father, preceded Danny in death, as well as a son, Mike Brown.
Funeral services for Danny Knowles will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 1:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Unionville Cemetery.
