Linda K. Conner, 61 of Greentop passed away Thursday morning at her home in Greentop.


Linda was born on May 26, 1950 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Jack Leon and Mauretta Claire Cornell Dooley. She was united in marriage to Jerry D. Conner on April 26, 1968 in Queen, City, MO.


Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry D. Conner of Greentop; her mother, Mauretta West of Queen City, MO; two daughters, Kimberely Conner and her fiancé John March of Queen City, MO and Amy Callihan and husband Brian of Cumming, GA; one sister, Jacquelyn Crump and husband Jeff of Overland Park, KS; three brothers, Jerry Dooley of Queen City, MO, Terry Dooley and wife Lisa of Arlington, TX and John L. Dooley and wife Lisa of Plainfield, IL and two grandchildren, Conner Bennett and Lilly Claire Callihan.


She was preceded in death by her father.


Linda was raised in Queen City where she attended the Queen City Schools and graduated from the Queen City High School with the class of 1968. She also attended the Vocational Technical Center in Kirksville and received her LPN. She completed her Certification to Teach & Examiner in Missouri which included Certified Nurses Aide, Certification Medication Technician, Certified Insulin Administration and L.P.N. I.V. Therapy Course. She attended Northeast Missouri State University and Indian Hills Community College where she received her Associate Degree Registered Nurse. Later she continued her education at Indian Hills Community College where she completed her Associate of Arts Degree and went on to Teikyo Marycrest University to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and received her Vocational II Certification Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Nursing). Linda also had a Certification of Completion, Designated Requestors, Mid -American Transplant Services.


Linda had been employed at Twin Pines Adult Care Center as Director of Nurses, Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital, Macon Health Care Center as Director of Nurses, Option Care; Critical Care Home Health for Pediatrics, Kirksville Vocational Technical School, Moberly Area Community College, Scotland County Memorial Hospital as Director of Nurses, Missouri University Hospital, and Schuyler County Nursing Home. She was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church, Schuyler County Ambulance Board where she served as Treasurer, Queen City Baseball Association where she served as Secretary and Treasure, Northeast Missouri Long Term Care DON Association where she served as Secretary and Treasure, El Kadir Jewels where she served as president in 1977, Eastern Star, American Field Service Representative and Counselor, Schuyler R-I School Board, and Schuyler County Health Department. Linda received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in the State of Missouri-1999. Linda was the first instructor to participate at Moberly Area Community College in the Missouri Consortium for Global Education (Short-term visit exchange with Canterbury Christ Church University College in England). Linda received an Appointment to the Missouri State Board of Nursing in 2003 where she served as secretary, chairman of the practice committee, the education committee, and the executive committee.


Linda was a loving Wife, Mom and Grandma.


A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Chapel with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Musical selections will be “The Dance,” “Holes in The Floor of Heaven,” and “Like My Mother Does.” Interment will be in the Queen City Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Jim Robertson, Rusty Tarr, Carl McBee, David Crabtree, Doug Pearson and Dennis Shultheiss.


The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233
