Marjorie A. Brown

Marjorie A. Brown, 70 of Kettering, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday (November 12, 2011) at her daughter’s home in Kirksville surrounded by her loved ones, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.

The daughter of Stephen Thomas and Helen Martha Vanderpool, she was born April 26, 1941 in Sayre, Pennsylvania. She was raised and attended school in Meshoppen, PA. She later lived in Binghamton, NY where she raised her children. In 1982 she moved to Dayton, OH to be close to her daughter and Son-in-law who were stationed at Wright Patterson AFB.

Marjorie is survived by her two children, Michelle Prewitt and husband Ron of Kirksville and Michael Smigel and wife Vicki of New Albany, IN; seven grandchildren, Kara Prewitt, Sarah Prewitt, Christina Prewitt, Michael Smigel, Nicholas Smigel, Alexis Smigel and Vicki Brumley; four great grandchildren, Adelaide Prewitt, Sailor Lopez, Austin Brumley and Bailey Brumley; one brother, Alan Vanderpool and wife Donna of Camptown, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Howard and Stephen Vanderpool; one sister, Norma (Coleman) Vanderpool; infant grandchild, Danielle Smigel and one nephew, Terry Vanderpool.

Marjorie’s wishes were to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held in Dayton, Ohio. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
