George Clayton Branscom

June 6, 1942 — November 17, 2011

George Clayton Branscom, 69 of the Jimtown community passed away Thursday (November 17, 2011) at his home.


The son of Truman (Buck) and Dorothy (Boggs) Branscom, he was born June 6, 1942 in the home where he lived his entire life. He attended the Jimtown rural school and Queen City High School. He farmed and raised cattle. He was an avid C.B.er.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, John Joseph (Joe) Branscom and Lonnie Goodwin.


George is survived by one sister, Mary Brown Mehalovich and husband Jack; one brother, James Branscom and wife Janet; four nieces, Page Yadon and husband Mike, Dawn Garvin and husband Todd, Tara Jo Kinsey, and Barbara Ann Branscom, and five nehpews, Bob Branscom, Tom Branscom, Tim Branscom, Kelly Jo Branscom and Jacob Eric Branscom.


A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday (December 5, 2011) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.
