Reva Lorene Nichols, 91 of Kirksville passed away Monday (January 9, 2012) at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center.

Reva was born on October 20, 1920 in Adair County, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Ruby (Burchett) Smith. She was united in marriage to John E. Nichols on November 7, 1939 in Kirksville and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Trudy Eddy, two brothers, Glen (Buster) Smith and Hal Dean Smith and one grandson, Terry Wood.

Reva is survived by her daughter, Pat Johnson of Kirksville; five grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Gena Lorene Briggs, Toni Byram, Tina Clubb, Michael Tompkins and six great grandchildren.

Reva and her husband had lived on a farm north of Kirksville in the New Hope community for many years. She had been employed at McGraw-Edison and Gambles before becoming employed by Hollister where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Kirksville Country Club and enjoyed playing golf more than anything else.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (January 13, 2012) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Price officiating. Musical selections will be “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross” Interment will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steven Johnson, Troy Clubb, Jeffrey White, Brandon Kleinmeyer, Michael Tompkins and Jeremy Tompkins.

Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233
