Voncile Logston
Voncile Logston, 81, of Kanas City, formerly of Kirksville died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at White Oak Nursing Home in Kansas City, MO.
She was born on May 10, 1930, in Pure Air, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil F. and Mattie (Carnegey) Jones. On May 4, 1946, in Washington, Kansas she was married to James Logston, who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Norman Jones and Virgil F. Jones Jr.; and one sister, Juanita Truitt.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Ragan and husband Pat of Gladstone, MO; one brother, Ezra Jones and wife Mary of Washington, IA; three grandchildren, Kelli Bramlett of Kansas City, MO; Jimmy Tuggle of Moberly, MO, and Amy Gray of Kansas City, MO; four great-grandchildren, Erik Bramlett, David Tuggle, and Joey Chilson of Kansas City, MO and Ian Bramlett of Tipton, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Voncile was raised in the Pure Air community and attended Golden Rule School. For several years she worked in California before returning to Missouri living in Moberly, Kirksville, and Smithville before moving to the Kanas City area to be near her daughter. She was a fun loving person who especially enjoyed bingo and playing poker.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil K. Jones officiating. Musical selections will be "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "Precious Memories" and "Amazing Grace". Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Jones, Gary Jones, Herman Truitt, Pat Ragan, Carl Allman, and Mark Kuhaneck.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233
