Lyle E. Stout
Lyle E. Stout, 88, of Moberly, MO passed away Friday (March 16, 2012) at Mark Twain Assisted Living. He had been in declining health.
The son of John and Edith (McCartney) Stout, he was born September 16, 1923, in Glenwood, MO. On March 7, 1942 he was united in marriage to Hilda Jones who survives. Also surviving are four children, twins Roger and wife Linda Stout of Blue Springs, MO, Roberta Kellison of Moberly, MO, Margaret and husband Walter Flickinger of Moberly, MO, and John and wife Ruth Stout of Blue Springs, MO; ten grandchildren, Aaron Kellison, Steven (Glena) Kellison, Kyle (Rhonda) Stout, Brent (Jennifer) Stout, Kelly (Dustin) Stout, Mary Ellen (Lewis) VanHouten, Julie (David) Danner, Brian (Missy) Flickinger, Dianna (Steve) Ritzer, and Jason Stout; thirteen great grandchildren and a step-sister, Elaine Pickett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Juanita Scherrer and one brother, Russel Stout.
Lyle was a Navy veteran having served during World War II. After their marriage in 1942 Lyle and Hilda bought a farm in rural Queen City where they lived and farmed until moving to Blue Springs, MO in 1965. He worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Blue Springs and Odd Fellows of Blue Springs.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (March 20, 2012) at the Queen City Cemetery with Kyle Stout officiating. Military Rites will follow.
Pallbearers will be Brent Stout, Brian Flickinger, David Danner, Lucas Appling, Charles Rhoads, and Richard Wheeler.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO 63561 660-766-2241
