Wilma Lucille (Eiffert) Brenizer
Lucille Brenizer, 93, a life long resident of rural Queen City passed away at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville on (March 17, 2012).
The daughter of Lloyd and Arneta (Beck) Eiffert, she was born November 6, 1918 and raised on the farm near Willmathsville, southeast of Queen City. She attended Union School and Queen City High School. On January 1, 1938, she was united in marriage to Carl Edwin Brenizer, who preceded her in death on October 10, 2004. In November of 2004, she moved to Highland Crest Assisted Living in Kirksville. She enjoyed playing bingo and talking to the residents and staff.
She is survived by two children, a son, Larry Carl Brenizer and wife Carolyn of Mt. Pleasant, IA and a daughter, Anita Lynne Kelsey and husband Bob of Kirksville; five grandchildren, Stephen and Kim Brenizer, Gregory and Michelle Brenizer, Debbie and Michael Batson, Doyle Kelsey and David and Jessica Kelsey; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie and wife Jean of Bradenton, FL; one nephew, two nieces and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George.
She was a devoted wife supporting and helping her husband on the family farm east of Queen City. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church east of Queen City. She served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Ladies Aid Society and faithful attended and supported her church. Wilma was an active member of the Pioneer's Club, a Cancer Fund volunteer, and worked local elections. She was a 4-H leader for the Queen City 4-H Club for many years. She was also a member of the Lancaster Garden Club.
Wilma was devoted to her husband and family. She loved being a housewife, mother and a grandmother. She took great pride in her home and garden and enjoyed traveling with her husband.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (March 23, 2012) at St. Johns Lutheran Church in rural Queen City with Pastor Jermey McElvain officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Batson, Stephen Brenizer, Gregory Brenizer, Doyle Kelsey, David Kelsey, and Gilbert Schmitter.
Visitation with be after 2:00 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO 63561 660-766-2241
Memorials are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church.
