Barry Maddox, 35, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, IA, on Friday, March 16, 2012, as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident on US Highway 136 eight miles east of Unionville.

Barry Antome Maddox was born in Sacramento, CA, on June 11, 1976, the son of Jerry and Teresa (Stull) Maddox. Barry graduated from Putnam County High School in 1994 and immediately began employment at Rubbermaid Manufacturing in Centerville, IA, while taking classes at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville. He worked at Rubbermaid for 13 years until the plant closed.

Barry married Jamie Holland in Unionville, MO, on April 8, 2000, and they later divorced. Twin sons were born to this union, Tristan and Triton Maddox, and they survive at in Unionville.

Barry entered the construction business after the closure of Rubbermaid and he owned and operated T and T construction (named after his boys). He later also worked for Kaufman Construction out of Bloomfield, IA, where he continued working in residential and commercial construction. Barry was a hard worker who was completely devoted to his boys and would do anything for them. He liked to deer hunt with Triton and Tristan and ride horses with them. He was a good father who loved his boys. Barry was a good horseman who enjoyed breaking and riding horses. He built his own place in rural Putnam County and it was his dream farm.

In addition to his sons, Barry is survived by his mother, Teresa Maddox, of Unionville, MO, and his brother, Jeremy Gaschler and wife Keri and their son Gavin, of Marshalltown, IA. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Myrth Stull, of Unionville, MO, an uncle, Greg Stull, of Unionville, MO, and an aunt, Sherry Murrell and her husband Kenny of Linneus, MO. Several cousins also survive.

Barry was preceded in death by his father on January 6, 2010, and by his maternal grandfather, George Stull.

A memorial service of Barry Maddox will be held at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 7:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
