Helen M. McCarley
Helen M. McCarley, 87 of Queen City and formerly of Brashear passed away Monday (March 19, 2012) at the Schuyler County Nursing home.
The daughter of Everett W. and Hazel V. (Morris) Warner, she was born May 13, 1924 in Kirksville, Missouri. In Quincy, Illinois she was united in marriage to Jim McCarley and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Kay McFarland; brother, Clyde Warner; sisters, Naomi West, Eunice Booth, Thelma Street, Daisy Ray, Anna Lee Warner and Pearl Harris.
Helen is survived by three sons, Jim Burnett and wife Amy of Covington, WA, Stanford “Butch” Potter of Novinger, MO and Clive Burnett of Edwardsville, KS; two sisters, Virginia Singleton and Ruth Boman of Kirksville; six grandchildren, James D. Burnett, Tracy J. Burnett, Brittany Burnett, Lisa Whitis, Cheyenne Wolfe and Billy Dawn McFarland; two great grandchildren, Vincent and Mason Wolfe; several nieces and nephews.
Helen attended school in Kirksville and Columbia. She worked at the International Shoe Factory and for McGraw Edison for several years. She loved buying, selling and refinishing antiques, going to auctions and yard sales.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (March 23, 2012) at Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Wolfe, Jerry Hatcher, Randy Singleton, Stanley Street, Tracy Potter, Sonny Mountain, Clive Burnett and Jim Burnett.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
