Larry Land

Larry Lee Land, 72, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 28, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.

Larry Lee Land was born in Kansas City, MO, on March 16, 1940, the son of Nolan and Lucile Land, who preceded him in death. Larry graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1962 with a degree in accounting. He receive his CPA license soon after and began practicing in Kansas City. He moved to Unionville, MO, a few years later where he worked for Missouri Mining, Inc. He opened his own practice in Unionville after retiring and he operated that until his death.

Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Woolf and stepdaughters Dusty Armitage of TX, Denise and Mike Fiesel of TX, Dorothy and Robert Casey of Elk City, OK, and Shawna & Kevin Berry of Kirksville, MO. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Shawne Casey, Richard Hoffman, Kerry Don Chandler, Crystal Patrick, Nichole Patrick, Megan Fiesel, Mikeala Fiesel, Zachary Berry, Kyle Berry, and great-grandson Stephen Chandler.

A memorial service for Larry will be held at the Hartford Baptist Church on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 2:00 pm. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
