Jacky Dale Kite
Jack Kite age 70 of Kirksville passed away Sunday (May 27, 2012) at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Jack was born September 27, 1941 in Hurdland, Missouri, the son of Geraldine (Gardner) and Willard Dale Kite who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Marcena Small on June 16, 1961 who survives. To this union three children were born.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Kathi Lyons and husband Kelly of Kirksville; two sons, Kendell Kite and wife Terri of St. Charles, MO, and Kody Kite and wife Cora of Columbia, MO; seven grandchildren, Cory Montgomery, Tierney Barnes, Jacob Lyons, Kelsey Kite, Jordan Lyons, Jessica Kite, Jackson Kite; one great grandson, Jackson Montgomery; three sisters, Judy Strode and husband Dick of Ipava, IL, Dianna Spencer and husband Norman of Poolsville, MD, Debra Schempp of Kirksville; one brother-in-law, Garry Small and wife Carol of Canton, MO; mother-in law, Doris Pearce of Kirksville; several nieces and nephews.
Jack was raise in Brashear and graduated from the Brashear High School in 1959. He worked at McGraw Edison, Donaldson Company and Bachman Tool and Die where he retired in 2007.
Jack was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Colony Masonic Lodge #168 A. F & A. M., He had a love for woodworking, gardening, playing cards with friends and family, going to Casino’s and most of all spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (May 31, 2012) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Sheila Swafford officiating. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace” and “Daddy’s Hands”. Interment will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Schempp, Jason Schempp, Roger Thompson, Mike Strode, Curt Platz and Jerry McMain. Honorary bearers will be Tommy D. Small, Donald Thompson, Chuck Baker and Pete Reeves.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home,
