Lena Marie (Reindel) Crewz, 91, of the Phoeniz, AZ area of Mesa, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in a hospital in Mesa, AZ.

She was born June 6, 1921, in rural Queen City of Prairie Township in Schuyler County, MO. Her parents being John C. and Lena Pearl (McElhinney) Reindel. She attended the rural schools of Prairie and Black, which were one room schools. She went on to the Queen City High School graduating with honors in 1939. She taught one term at the Pleasant View School after some college work at Truman State University (then N.E.MO. State Teacher’s College).

Marie then went on to the Kansas City area working in various office jobs when she met Warren G. Crewz of Kentucky, when he was in the United States Navy. They were married February 18, 1945 in Olathe, KS. They lived in various locations when Warren was in the service. She was a Baptist in faith since early childhood and remained so throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband on September 2, 2011 and one brother, Leonard, in October, 2000.

Marie is survived by two children, Jan Marie Rauscher of the Phoenix, AZ area and one son, Roy Crewz and his wife, Susan of the state of Virginia. Other survivors include four grandchildren; Lauren, Allison, April and Clayton Rauscher of the Phoenix, AZ area; one brother, Sterling G. Reindel of Kirksville, MO, and several cousins in Schuyler, Adair and Macon counties in MO.

Funeral service will be held in Phoenix with burial by her husband in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
