Harvey “Trey” Burton Young III

Harvey “ Trey “ Burton Young III , age 67, of Chandler, AZ and formerly a long time resident of Kirksville, MO, died June 26th, 2012.

Trey was born January 25, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Harvey Burton and Jane Clinton Young. He was united in marriage on June 10, 1967 to Kathryn Hogenson. Trey was a 1963 graduate of Kirksville Senior High. He attended Kemper Military Academy for 2 years and received a degree from Westminster College. He served in the military from 1968-1970 with the 82nd airborne in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Stevie and husband Jim Garland; two sons, Chris B. and Michael and his wife Michelle Young; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Grace, and a grandson, Michael; his father, Harvey B. Young Jr.; sister, Susan and brother-in-law, Todd Dublin; niece, Ellie Dublin and nephew, Will Dublin; brother and sister-in-laws, Gilbert and Bobbie Hogenson, Don and Betty Hogenson, and Evelyn Hogenson. Trey was blessed with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, paternal grandparents Harvey and Francis Young, and brother-in-law Bob Hogenson.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday (August 3, 2012) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m.

Trey’s wish was for expressions of sympathy to be made to the National Lupus Foundation, in honor of his granddaughter Kaitlyn, who suffers from systemic lupus. All donations can be left or mailed to Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
