Walter J. Kibler

Walter Joseph Kibler, 86 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2012) at the Hospice House in Hiawatha, IA.

The son of Jesse Cassius and Laura (Abernathy) Kibler, he was born December 23, 1925 in Viola, Arkansas. On April 9, 1949 in Ottumwa, Iowa he was united in marriage to Dorothy Woods and she survives. Also surviving is one son, James Kibler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Walter was raised in the Kirksville area where her attended school in Kirksville and Novinger. He attended Kirksville State Teachers College. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Collins Radio for 19 years and for Square D for 16 years. He was of the Methodist faith.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (October 1, 2012) at the Green Castle Cemetery with Virgil K. Jones officiating.
