James Edward Wakefield

James Edward Wakefield, 61 of Kansas City, MO passed away on October 21, 2012 at his home in Columbia, MO.

James was born in Stockton, California to Eva Bates and Artie Wakefield on August 3, 1951. He married Linda Garrett on December 18, 1976.

James worked as a auto body repairman for over thirty years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the U.S. Army as a private first class and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed golf, fishing, playing poker with his friends, and spending lots of time with his two daughters and one granddaughter.

James is survived by two daughters, Brandy and Rusty Foos of Columbia, MO and Lisa Wakefield of Eddieville, IA; one granddaughter, Ashley Foos of Columbia, MO; one sister, Barbara Rodgers of Blue Springs, MO; two brothers, Ronald and Betty Wakefield of Pineville, MO and Franklin Streit of Parkville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda, one sister, Doris Wakefield and three brothers, David Streit, Allen Streit and Jerry Wakefield.

Graveside service and military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (October 26, 2012) at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville. Arrangements under the direction of Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
