Garold Hinerman, 80, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on Friday, November 9, 2012, where he had been a patient for about ten days.
Garold Darwin Hinerman was born east of Omaha, MO, on October 15, 1932, the son of Darwin Stanford and Mary (Hicks) Hinerman, who preceded him in death. Garold graduated from Livonia High School in 1953. On June 2, 1967, he married Mona Choate in Unionville, MO, and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2004.
Garold was a hard working man who farmed and worked at the Box Factory in Centerville, IA, for ten years. He also worked for ten years at the Gold Circle in Centerville as well as Iowa wire and steel for four years. He worked part-time for the City of Unionville before retiring in 2000. Garold also mowed grass at Lake Thunderhead.
Garold was a kind man with a warm heart. He liked to visit and was friendly with all he met. Garold liked to play checkers and pitch horseshoes. He was a member of Omaha Baptist Church.
Garold is survived by two sisters, Louise McCoy of Centerville, IA, and Juanita Harrelson of Kirksville, MO, and a brother, Gary Hinerman, of Kirksville, MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Garold is also survived by his pal Sam, “man’s best friend.”
Graveside services for Garold Hinerman will be at the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO, on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
Memorials for Garold are suggested to the Unionville Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
