Lillian Elaine Lewellen, 93 of Kirksville passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center.

The daughter of Liburn Lee and Roma Cleo (Wellbaum) Ledford, Lillian was born on May 15, 1919 in Greentop, MO. On September 13, 1939 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Oliver Wellington Lewellen and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1982. Also Preceding was her parents; son, Royce Lewellen; and step-son, Ivan Lewellen.

Elaine is survived by her son, Charles Lewellen and wife Diana of Kirksville; sister, Leota (Toadie) Mae Ledford of Greentop, MO;four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was reared in Greentop where she attended rural school and the Greentop High School. She was employed at the Heaven of Rest Nursing Home as a certified med nurse.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-RImer Funeral Home with Reverend Curtis Ferguson officiating. Georgia Anna Robinson will sing “I’ll Fly Away” and “No Night There” accompanied by Gwen Laudwig. Burial will be in the Greentop Memorial Park in Greentop, MO.

Pallbearers are Shawn Lewellen, Chuck Lewellen, Pat Foglesong, Andrew Lewellen, Greald Robinson, Jerrod Lewellen and Caleb Foglesong.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501   660-665-2233

Memorials are suggested to the Greentop United Methodist Church.
