Rodney G. Helton

Rodney Glen Helton 59, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of Ovel Glen and Bernice F. (Osborn) Helton, Rodney was born June 26, 1953 in Kirksville, MO.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Starks of Kirksville; two sons, Tristin Helton of St. Joseph, MO and Andrew Glen Helton of Bloomfield, IA; two daughters, Teresa Bowen of Branson, MO and Rhonda Helton of Belton, MO; one sister, Pam Lindsey and husband Ken of Brashear, MO; three half-sisters, Thelma Jean Colvard of Ventura, CA, Doris Atchey of Novinger, MO and Maxine Cowan of Macon, MO; eight grandchildren; special friends, Glen Rouse and Sandy Craig and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father in 1986 and three brothers-in-law, Don Atchley, Donald Cowan and Curt Colvard.

He was reared in Kirksville and attended the Kirksville public schools. Rodney was employed at K.O.H. (now Northeast Regional Medical Center) and later at Spillman’s Auto Parts. He had a faithful companion, his dog “Midnight”.

Graveside service and burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Pratt Cemetery with Reverend Virgil Jones officiating.

There will be no visitation.
