Sean Calhoun

September 26, 2000 — December 20, 2012

Sean Calhoun, 12, of Green City, MO finished his life long struggle with a weak physical heart and was called home by Jesus to receive an eternal heart on December 20, 2012 as a resident of the Children’s Medical Center in Columbia, MO.
Sean Calhoun was born on September 26, 2000 in Albany, NY the son of Carol Neighbors and Patrick Calhoun II. Sean’s life was not long, but it was rich and full. Sean was blessed to have a family who made it possible for him to be involved in life as one without a disability. Sean was able to shoot his first deer this fall and attend softball, football, and basketball games to proudly watch his cousins play. Sean’s love of sports continued at home as a Yankee and Red Skins fan. This could be a bit dangerous living in the Midwest, but Sean liked living on the edge with his incredible yet proud tolerance for hot sauce. Sean had an understood deep faith and love for his family and church family. He had the ability to light up any room with his infectious smile. Little Mr. Calhoun would often refer to himself in the third person as “The Sean” who will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents Sean is survived by a brother, Damien Calhoun of the home; half brothers, Patrick III and Logan Calhoun; and a half sister, Alexandra Calhoun. Sean’s surviving grandparents are Clinton Neighbors of Unionville, MO, Margaret Baxter and husband Cliff of Sun City, AZ, and Patrick and Katherine Calhoun of Gloversville, NY. Sean’s great grandparents are Benny and Barb Neighbors of Unionville, MO and Betty Fraker of Gloversville, NY. Sean’s Uncles and Aunts include Crystal and David Perkins, Carl and Angela Neighbors, Johnny and Wendy Carter, Jonathan and Jennifer Neighbors, Bambie Cross, Jason, Bissy, Joseph, Bruce, Jazmyn, and Debbie Calhoun. Several cousins also survive Sean.
Sean was preceded in death by a half brother, Eric Calhoun.
Memorials for Sean are suggested to the Family and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
