Frank J. Buban

Frank Joseph Buban, 84 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (December 25, 2012) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of Anthony and Bessie (Sekardi) Buban, he was born March 13, 1928 in Kirksville, MO. On August 28, 1948 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Sue Campbell.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sue; one daughter, Sandi Puentes and husband Gilbert of Austin, TX; one son, Michael Buban of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, Nicole Hartje, Heather Joseph and Conner Buban; three great grandchildren, John Joseph III, Tyler Joseph and Ellen Nicole Joseph; two sisters, Louise Buban of Kirksville and Katie Scudder of Jefferson City, MO; nephews, Dr. Harry B. Young III, Steven Young, Lyle Creason and Lynn Creason; and niece, Charlene Rogerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Frank graduated from the Kirksville High School with the class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. He graduated in 1952 from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) with a degree in Education. He worked as a highway designer for 38 years for the Missouri State Highway Department at the district 2 office in Macon, MO until he retired in 1990.

He was a former member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, big band music and was handy fixing things around the house. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (December 28, 2012) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Deacon Dave Ream officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
