Freda P. Henderson, 83, of Kirksville passed away Thursday, January 24th, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
The daughter of Mable (Roby) and Victor Detwiler, Freda was born July 19, 1929.  On September 3, 1965 in Kansas City, MO she was united in marriage to Jim Henderson.
Freda is survived by a brother and his wife, Ronnie and JoMarie Detwiler of Independence, MO; a sister-in-law, Juanita Detwiler of Kirksville; two sons, James Henderson Jr. and wife Linda of Briggsdale, CO and Ronnie Henderson of Linn Creek, MO; three grandsons, Aaron Henderson and wife Donna of Greenwood, MO, Joshua Henderson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Mitchell Henderson of Linn Creek, MO; two great grandsons, Jonathan Henderson and Daniel Clark of Lee’s Summit, MO; nieces, Vicky (John) Williams and Joyce (Paul) Kerwin; other nieces and nephews including Tanya Playle; and an amazing friend and caregiver, Theresa Lorey.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. In addition, her loving brother, Bill Detwiler, passed away on January 25th, just one day after his sister.
Freda grew up in Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1947. She retired after many years at the Veterans Administration (VA) in Kansas City, MO. She was a former member of the Kearney United Methodist Church and the Kirksville Moose Lodge where she often helped serve meals.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1st at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the McCredie Cemetery in Kingdom City, MO.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Henderson, Aaron Henderson, Mitchell Henderson, Jonathan Henderson and Daniel Clark.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1st at the
