Harold Basil “Fuzzy” Keller, 92 of Kirksville passed away Friday (February 1, 2013) at his home in Kirksville.


The son of Samuel Burns and Inez Ilora (Righter) Keller, he was born May 6, 1920 in Peoria, IL. On July 13, 1953 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Bertha “Blondie” Morris and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Effie Jean Keller, a step son, Lonnie Lowe and a close friend, Alice Munden.


Harold is survived by a step daughter, Pat (Lowe) Conrad of Hoffman Estates, IL; and a step son, Eugene Lowe of New Orleans, LA.


Harold served in the United States Army during World War II serving from October 26, 1942 until his discharge on January 4, 1946. He served is the European, African and Middle Eastern Campaigns and received one bronze star. He worked most of his life as a master carpenter, working in the Chicago and Kirksville areas.


He was a member of the V.F.W. and loved to gamble and go out to eat.


Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (February 6, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil K. Jones officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Ownbey Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be members of the V.F.W. and D.A.V.


Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the
