Robert M. Crosley
Robert M. Crosley age 82, of Kirksville passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013.
The son of Veril and Dorothy (Shirey) Crosley, Robert was born January 12, 1931 in New Lisbon, IN.
On June 10, 1968 in Macon, MO he was united in marriage to Betty Powell who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Kim Crosley of Maple Grove, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was reared in New Lisbon, IN by his grandparents, Wilbur and Mary Alice Shirey.
He attended school in New Lisbon and graduated from the New Lisbon High School with the Class of 1949.
He entered the U.S. Air Force on January 12, 1951 and served for 20 years and 21 days.
He was in the Radar Tech Petty office.
He also served at the Air Base north of Kirksville, MO and then transferred to Las Vegas, NV and the Navy Base in Key West, FL. He retired in February, 1971 and returned to Kirksville to
make his home.
Robert was a wonderful husband and father.
He loved people and was always willing to help anyone.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and attended the Indy 500 many times.
He was also an avid Dodger fan.
Robert was a good Christian person.
Private graveside service with Military Rites will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, MO with the Whiteman Air Force Base Chaplin officiating.
Pallbearers will be the military from Whiteman Air Force Base.
