Charlene Grace Coin
Charlene Grace Coin, 78 of Kirksville passed away Monday (March 4, 2013) at her home.
The daughter of Charles Alfred and Maggie Irene (Swearengen) Murphy, she was born October 12, 1934 in Milan, Missouri. On February 8, 1953 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Edward Lee Coin and to this union three children were born, David Lee, Daniel Keith and Debra Ann.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Edward; two sons, David Lee Coin and wife Lajeana of Brashear, MO and Daniel Keith Coin and wife Dana of Kirksville; one daughter, Debra Ann Pawling and husband John of Maryville, MO; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; one sister, Dainie Hollon and husband Gary of Kirksville; one niece, Milene Mittelhauser of Sedalia, MO and two great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mable Spencer and one niece, Sandy Spencer.
Charlene grew up in Milan where she attended country school. She worked at the Maxwell five and dime store in Milan until moving to Kirksville in 1952 with her parents. She was self employed as a local seamstress for 38 years until she retired.
She was a member of the Mt. Moriah church in Milan. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, canning, baking, and collecting dolls and teddy bears. She was devoted to her family and was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (March 7, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Erick Hansen officiating. Music will be provided by Lanna Novinger singing, “One Day at a Time”, “Angel Band” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” accompanied by Dianthe Cable. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Coin, Hayden Coin, Bransen Bloskovich, Danielle Coin, Katy Coin and Lisa Coin. Honorary bearers will be Thomas Crowe, Jordan Stanford, Luke Lunsford, Dustin Lunsford and Brad Lunsford.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
