Ruby Irene Phillips

Ruby Irene Phillips age 88, of Kirksville MO passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Oscar B. and Bessie F. (Prather) Boley, she was born May 10, 1924 in Adair County, MO. On March 21, 1945 she was united in marriage to Roy Gary Phillips who preceded her in death on April 19, 1982.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Florence E. Lowe; three brothers, Richard L., Glen R., and Cecil O. Boley and one niece, Connie Kay Boley.

Ruby is survived by one son, Roy Daniel Phillips; three grandchildren, Nakisha Irene Phillips, Joshua Kane Phillips and Paxton Andrew Phillips and five nieces.

Ruby was reared in the Yarrow community before moving to Kirksville in 1937. She was employed for several years at the International Shoe Factory and McGraw Edison Electric Company. She was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville.

Graveside service and burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Highland Park Cemetery with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating.
