Mary Louise Lovekamp
Mary Louise Lovekamp, 84 of Queen City, passed away Tuesday
morning (March 26. 2013)
at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The daughter of J.B. and Mary (Bowman)
Woods, she was born March 19, 1929 in
Rogersville, Tennessee. On March 18, 1950 she
was united in marriage to Olin Leon Lovekamp
at the St. John's Lutheran Church east
of Queen City. To this union two children were b
orn, Kathy Shields and husband David of
Lineville, IA and Terry Lovekamp and fiancée
Tammy Treasure of Queen City.
Mary is survived by her husband of the
home; her children; six granddaughters, Laurel Owens and husband Ryan of Lees
Summit, MO, Shelby Hickman and husband Jacob of Princeton. MO, Kallie Shields
of Springfield, MO, Tara Lovekamp, Karissa Lovekamp and
Sienna Lovekamp of
Queen City, MO; two great granddaughters, Easton and Ellis Owens born March 12,
2013; one sister, Nell Alexander of Rockford, IL
and two half-sisters, Juanita DeBord
and Carolyn Johnson of Rogersville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, one sister, Hazel Woods; one step-sister, Neoma Bentley; and one step-brother,
Merless Woods.
Mary grew up in Tennessee where
she attended Stral and Sam Long elementary schools.
Mary and Olin met in
Rockford,
IL
where they both
worked. After their marriage they
moved to the family farm east of Queen City
where they farmed until retirement.
Mary and Olin attended St. John’s
Lutheran Church until their later years when they attended
Schuyler County Church
of Faith in Lancaster, MO. Mary was a housewife, devoted mom and grandmother.
She and Olin were involved for many years with the Queen City Pioneers
Association.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00
p.m. Saturday (March 30. 2013) at the Dooley Funeral
Home with Pastor
Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial
will
be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be Jeff McClellan,
Sidney Sidwell, Mark Starbuck, Jeff Watson, Donald Jackson, and Terry Lovekamp.
Honorary Bearers
will
be Gary Martin, Richard Wheeler, Richard
Hurley, Ethan Wright, Bill Sloop,
Russell Bushnell, Robert Slaughter, Richard Anderson, and
Paul Prough.
