Evelyn Truitt
Margaret Evelyn Truitt 84 of Kirksville
passed away Wednesday (April 17, 2013) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The
daughter of Raymond and Florence (Ledford) Kimberly, she was born July 25, 1928
in Green Castle, MO. On May 22, 1948 in Kirksville she was united in marriage
to Hubert Truitt.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64
years, Hubert; two sons, Michael Eugene Truitt and wife Dianne of Bloit, KS and
Allan Ray Truitt and wife Marsha of Kirksville; two grandsons, Eric (Christine)
Truitt of Kirksville and Charles (Renee) Truitt of Kirksville; four great
grandchildren, Tannis, Drake, Kitara and Wyatt Truitt all of Kirksville; two
sisters-in-law, Wanda Truitt of St. Louis, MO and Donna Hadden of Oregon; two
nephews, Steve and Ricky; two nieces, Barbara and Linda; and cousins, Virginia
Athon and family of Green Castle, MO and Skip Kimberly and family of
Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
two brothers, Marion and Keith Kimberly; and two nephews, Rodney and Randy
Kimberly.
Evelyn grew up southwest of Novinger and
attended the Liberty Grade School and graduated from the Green Castle High
School where she was class President. She worked for the Shoe Factory for 19
years and then for Hollister Inc. for 23 years until she retired.
She was a member of the Pure Air Baptist
Church. She loved doing crafts, quilting, cooking, canning, gardening and
spending time with and teaching her grandkids.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday (April 20, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with
Reverend Ernest Deatrick and Reverend Dennis Huskisson officiating. Burial will
be in the Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle, MO.
Pallbearers will be Eric Truitt, Charlie
Truitt, Tanis Truitt, Drake Truitt, Bob Crump and Jeff Daniels. Honorary
bearers will be Kitara Truitt, Ronnie Truitt, Wyatt Truitt and Eldon Hays.
Visitation with the family will be from
1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the
