Frances Marie McKim
Frances Marie McKim, 75 of Kirksville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Frances was born July 9, 1937 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of James and Pansy Lucas Dodd.
Frances is survived by her four daughters, Sandy Rogers and Ed Robbins of Kirksville, Debra Sapp and Gary Thomure of Hannibal, MO, Liz Wells and Greg of Mt. Vernon, WA and Rose Clark and Hank Sigsby of Kirksville; one son, Sterling Owens and Cindy of Kirksville; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, Nolan; four brothers, John, Charlie, Hopper and Pete Dodd of Hannibal, MO; very special friend of 17 years, Emory Smashy of Hannibal, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Donna Faye; her husband, Jack McKim; three sisters, Emma, Elsea and Rose Ann; and one brother, Larry.
Frances received her education in Hannibal before moving to Kirksville in 1968 when she married Jack McKim. She worked for Zuchhi’s store and later Hogeson’s store. She then owned and operated her own store “Corner Grocery”. She later worked for Wal-Mart until she retired. She then returned to Hannibal to be with her brothers and sisters.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, picking mushrooms and strawberries, singing and country music. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours with her dog Willie Nelson.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 1, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Elaine Allred officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
