Barbara Joan (Johnson) Pruett born
February 18, 1938 and passed away May 03, 2013 at Northeast
Medical Center in Kirksville. She was a
lifelong resident of Kirksville and surrounding area. She was the eldest and
only daughter of Glen and Lela (Hubbard) Johnson. She was married to
Lewis Pruett July 18, 1955 and later divorced.
She is survived by Lewis and their seven wonderful
children. Children
and grandchildren are Vickie Sue Pruett (John, Jennifer Pruett), Connie Kay
(Pruett) and Bro Boyd Halford (Troy, Chris, James
Pinkerton), Joyce Ann (Pruett) and Frank Brown (Melissa, Kevin, Brian), Glen
Leon and Victoria Pruett (Kelly, Rachel), Russell Dell and Sheila Pruett
(Jessie, Chrissy, Eric, Tristan, Cody and Jacob), Laura June (Pruett) Heimer
(Patricia, Barbara S), Robert Scott Pruett
(Garyn, Micheal) . She had 30 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by Lewis, their seven
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two
brothers, Gary
and Wayne Johnson; two aunts, Virginia (Johnson) Johnson, and Ivalee (Hubbard)
Uber and several
cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a
brother, Larry Johnson, two sisters-in-laws, Charlene
(Mathes) Johnson
and Patricia (Blessing) Johnson, a niece, Debbie Charlene Johnson, and a
nephew, Glen Gary
Johnson both at infancy.
She has worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory, was part owner and operator of
General Wrecker Service, cooked, took care of elderly and drove taxi. She loved
her Amish friends and took them
places.
She loved her family and doing for others, cooking, baking, gardening,
Bingo and going to the Casino. She had a strong faith in God. She will be sadly
missed by her children, grandchildren
and
great grandchildren, other family members and friends. Her children were taught
at a
young age to "Honor thy Father and thy Mother, that thy days
may be long upon the land which
the Lord thy
God giveth thee". Always remember the good times.
The body has been cremated and burial will
be at the Refuge Cemetery. A Memorial service
will be held May 18
th
, 2013
at 4:00pm at Refuge Cemetery with a carry in dinner following for all family
members and friends at Jacob's Winery southeast of Kirksville.
