Shirley Taylor, 77, of Queen City passed away Wednesday afternoon May 15, 2013, in the N ortheast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Tyrone and Lola Mae (Ryals) Gardner, she was born April 6, 1936, in Queen City, Missouri. She attended the Queen City Public School, graduating with the class of 1954. On May 7, 1957 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Arthur Werder and to this union one child was born.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Lee Eitel and husband Richard of Greentop; one granddaughter, Melissa Long and husband Kevin of Novinger; one grandson, Jason Bunch and wife Melissa of La Plata; a step grandson, David Eitel of Davenport, IA; three great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kelsey Long, and Aubrey Bunch, and several cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley lived in Kirksville where she worked for several years as a Nurses Aid in the local hospitals. She also worked for a few years at McGraw Edison in Centerville, IA. Due to failing health Shirley moved to Village 76 where she resided until going to the Schuyler County Nursing Home in 2007.

She belonged to the Queen City Baptist Church at an early age until becoming a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Kirksville.

Shirley liked going to church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She really liked playing bingo at the nursing home and spending time and visiting with the other residents.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (May 18, 2013) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Beeler officiating, and Kevin Long assisting. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kaleb Long, Jason Bunch, Kevin Long, Gary Martin, Harold Rogers, and Richard Eitel.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the
