Wilma Matthew, 88 of Kirksville passed away Monday (June 10, 2013) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.


Wilma was born on September 12, 1924 Southwest Adair County, the daughter of Webb and Versa Bosarth Grisamer. On October 12, 1946 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Richard T. Matthew who preceded her in death on November 11, 1991. She was also preceded in death may her parents; son, Rick Matthew on November 27, 1980; and one sister, Vera in 2001.


Wilma is survived by one grandson, Darin Lowe and wife Lisa of Novinger; one great grandson, Hunter Lowe; two sisters, Ramah Price of Long Beach, CA and Doris Cathey of Surprise, AZ; three nieces, Judy Emerick of Orange CA, Lynda Querry of Long Beach, CA, Carol Harris of CA and one nephew, Bob Price of Long Beach, CA.


Wilma was reared in south west Adair County where she attended rural school. She than attended Novinger High School graduating with the class of 1943. She and her husband owned and operated Kirksville Safety Service where she did the bookkeeping. After they sold the business she became employed with the First National Bank until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially her grandchildren.


A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (June 13, 2013) at the Maple Hills Cemetery with Reverend Virgil Jones officiating. Burial will follow the service.


The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the
