Linda Faye Klingsmith

Linda Faye Klingsmith, 66, of Unionville, MO passed away at the Boone County Medical Center in Columbia, MO on June 11, 2013.

Linda Klingsmith was born in Omaha, Missouri on December 7, 1946, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel Rowland.

Linda attended Unionville High School at the McCalment Park location and on June 8, 1963 at her parent’s home she married Floyd Klingsmith who passed away earlier this year.

Throughout Linda’s life she served as a CNA nurse, Med Tech, and a physical Therapy aid. She worked at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital which was a great fit for her kind and generous personality. As a young woman, Linda joined the Omaha Baptist Church and later attended the Hartford Baptist Church. She loved to be outside with her flowers working diligently in the garden and with her cattle on the farm. Linda’s grandchildren were the center of her life. She faithfully cooked Sunday dinner for her entire family. Linda will always be remembered for her selflessness.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Cindy Blankenship and husband Philip of Unionville, MO and Krista Schoonover and husband Chris of Unionville, MO. Grandchildren are A.J. Blankenship, Josh Blankenship and wife Jackie, Ariel Parsons and husband Wes, Desiree Schoonover and fiancée James Wood, Montana Schoonover, and Hunter Schoonover. Jack Blankenship, a special great grandson who was the light of Linda’s life, also survives as well as a brother, Tom Rowland and wife Janet of Unionville, MO. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were thought of as Linda’s own children.

In addition to Linda’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Teddy Dean and a son, Floyd William, Jr. who died in infancy.

Linda’s Memorial Service was held at the Hartford Baptist Church in Hartford, MO on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2:00pm. Musical selections included “Landslide” and “Down to the River to Pray.” Tom Rowland officiated her service and memorials in Linda’s honor have been suggested to the family.

Arrangements were made by Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, Unionville, MO.
